Hello, I am currently working on a bachelors thesis based on interfacial gelation and I am using Sodium Alginates. I know that when reacted with a calcium solution that the Alginates undergo a cross-linking reaction with the calcium to form a hydrogel. However, I would like to be able to use an amphiphilic molecule. If anyone knows of any amphiphilic molecules that are divalent and can also cross-link with sodium Alginate that would be great. I've spent a fair amount of time googling for some answers but to no avail. If anyone has any suggestions that would be great.
Thanks
