Baking powder contains sodium bicarbonate but it also contains other acids. Is there a way I can remove the other acids and only keep the sodium bicarbonate?

Probably not easily. However, with a list of ingredients, that you can find online or on the back of the tin. You can build a table, and evaluate the properties, and see if you can figure out some tricks. Its a good way to learn.
