I have a 1H NMR with a 1:1:1 triplet downfield (around 7-8 ppm) that is attributable to 3 ammonio protons.  Is this due to N-H splitting (e.g., 2n+1, 2(1)=1) where n=1 for N?  The coupling constant is right but I'm not sure how to describe this or what phraseology to use in my paper.  Thank you in advance.

Likely NH4+,  You often see14N coupling when the 14N is in a symmetric environment

If the three peaks of a triplet signal are equal in height, it is due to N-H coupling.
