Preparation for reduction of AgCl
« on: March 10, 2018, 08:36:58 AM »
Hi

I have to make AgCl adsorbed onto the glass and I little worried because I heard that silver chloride is not soluble well even in ammonium hydroxide. So I am taking account of using sodium hydroxide. It reacts with AgCl and creates silver oxide.
I think silver oxide more easily forms complex compounds with ammonium than directly uses ammonium hydroxide, but I don’t know really it is.
So, it is better to use sodium hydroxide before reduction or I should just use ammonium hydroxide.

If you give me some advice, I will very appreciate it.
