Sn2 exercise correction
« on: June 26, 2018, 08:10:44 AM »
Hi....I have some doubt
The exercise is this:

I know that NaOH is a strong base and the acid  base reactions have the priority over Sn one

But  a Sn2 can occour only when I have tue Nu and the Leaving group in  a cis configuration

In the firs case I hace a cis isomer.
So what is the product?
NaOH reacts with the -OH alcolic group(acid base reaction) or in tuos case I have to consider a Sn2 reaction on the Carbon bonded with Cl?

I have the same doubt in the last molecule
Here I  also have EtOH...so What does it mean?!

Please some help
Thanks!!
