How to determine most soluble compound in different solvents?
« on: January 19, 2019, 03:17:40 PM »
If i have a set of different polar organic compounds and different polar (protic and aprotic) solvents, how can i determine which compound will be the most soluble in each of the solvents? This without using any sort of tools such as a solubility predictor. What difference between the compounds should I note to determine the relative solubility of each?

Do you have any ideas? I think hydrogen bonding ability, dipolmoment and large lipophilic parts in the molecule are important. Can you maybe post the structures here?

Also, remember that sometimes things are truly miscible, not just soluble.
