Limiting Reagent Problem:
Oxygen reacts with SO2 to produce SO3,
2SO2 + O2 -> 2SO3
6 moles of O2 react with 10 moles of SO2
6. How many moles of O2 are required to react with 10 moles of SO2?
7. How many moles of SO2 are required to react with 6 moles of O2?
8. How many moles of the excess reagent are left?
9. How many moles of SO3 are produced?
COuld you explain what limiting reagents are, and what excess reagents are?
I think the first 2 questions are just the ratios again, but for the second 2, I'm lost. First of all, I don't really get the question. Are they saying that the ratios should be like in the equation, or the, "6 moles of O2 react with 10 moles of SO2 ?"
Could you explain what limiting reagents and excess reagents are?
