Just was wondering if there is a relatively easy way to synthesize naphthalene.
I was thinking about reaction between trans-butadien and cyclohexene in the presence of light. We get .
There is another structure . When heating the c-c bond rotates forming 1,2,3,4,4a,5,8,8a-Octahydro-naphthalene . And then we just dehydrogenate it.
Maybe you have some information about conditions of these reactions and other methods?
